Kristen Anne Bell is an American singer and actress born in 1980. She is an Michigan native who was born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her parents are born in Polish descent (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen's passion for acting was found at a young age. In 1992, she was awarded her first role at the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell had an agent appointed by her mother prior to the age of 13 and was subsequently cast as a model on newspapers and television commercials. In addition, she is beginning private acting lessons. Bell played an uncredited part on Polish Wedding (1998), the film that was released in 1998. Bell went to Shrine Catholic High School, where she was a member of the musical and drama clubs. She was cast as Dorothy in the production for high school of The Wizard of Oz. Bell then moved in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She studied musical theater there. Bell was a graduate in 2001, resigned her studies at the university to play the role Becky in Tom Sawyer. She made her first film credit in Pootie Tang at the beginning of 2001. The scene however cut, and her appearance only appears in the credits at the end. Bell appeared alongside Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
